Economic Development Director

SUMMARY:

This position reports to the County Manager and to the Economic Development Association board. The position plays a pivotal role in driving economic development in Rutherford County by offering tailored assistance in facilitating partnerships and strategies that promote new business, existing business growth and expansion, and a variety of other economic duties. The main goal is the implementation of new industries in Rutherford County for the purpose of creating jobs, economic opportunities and increasing county revenue through investment and assists existing industry in growth and success. Position also coordinates county and regional resources to make available infrastructure to new businesses and promote Rutherford County with a high-profile image to attract new industry, commercial and tourist businesses. Position is responsible for assisting existing industry and businesses in obtaining infrastructure support and labor. The Economic Development Director oversees administrative functions of the Economic Development Department.
