About the Director of Business Development Position

 

Marketing Activities:

  • Collaboratively works with the NCSE team on implementation of marketing strategies and initiatives.
  • Utilizes multiple platforms to market the region for lead generation
  • Collaboratively manages client engagement, project proposals and RFI submissions.
  • Coordinates development, planning, and implementation of annual marketing calendar of events.
  • Engages and collaborates on identification, development and deployment of marketing materials.
  • Represents and promotes the organization at marketing trade shows, consultant/broker events, and recruiting missions.
  • Interacts with site selection consultants and brokers.
  • Manages and participates in economic development projects and client visits.
  • Collaborates with county EDOs and allies on planning and execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Develops the annual marketing budget.
  • Collaborates in allied relationships that support marketing and product development.

 

Strategic Activities:

  • Assists in the coordination of the Local Developers Advisory Group (LDAG).
  • Engages in implementation of product development program.
  • Monitors and evaluates metrics related to marketing performance and ROI.
  • Participates in development and implementation of organizational strategic plan.
  • Supports input, updates, and maintenance of buildings and sites database.
  • Engages in private fundraising efforts as needed.

 

Technology Integration:

  • Evaluates and facilitates the integration of AI into marketing platforms and messaging.
  • Assists with Salesforce client record management system data input and reporting
  • Coordinates with the NCSE team on the use of supporting research platforms, including JobsEQ and Dun & Bradstreet.
  • Supports integration of drone video technology into marketing initiatives.

 

Skills, Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum BA or BS degree in related field with two years of related experience.
  • Required skillsets include excellent verbal and written communication abilities, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment, and strong presentation skills for clients and stakeholders.
  • Additional strengths include collaborative engagement, working knowledge of database platforms, team facilitation, and project management and tracking.

 

Travel and Work Conditions:

  • Extensive travel is required within the region; moderate domestic travel; and potential international travel.
  • Hybrid work/office environment.
  • Residency within the region required.
