How CTE Courses Affect High School Students

Emma Freeman is a junior at Albemarle High School who plans to pursue a degree in either nursing or education. She is also an advocate for Career and Technical Education (CTE) in North Carolina’s secondary schools. The practical value of CTE is broader than many students, teachers and parents realize. Emma says that she and her classmates benefit from access to courses in agriculture, workplace safety, health science, personal finance and more. “The opportunities that CTE offers are great chances to gain important knowledge for life that will give you an advantage no matter what career you decide to go into.”
